Good Friday, a day of sincere reverence among Goan Catholics, also the culmination of Lent, one of the important observances in devoted Catholics lives. Actually, the Lent is observed for 40 days i.e. from February to March, which begins with Ash Wednesday and ends on Sunday i.e. a day "Good Friday" followed by Easter.

On this day Jesus Christ was crucified and the Christians offer prayers and services in the Churches. In fact, Jesus Christ rose from the dead and ascended into heaven. Easter is another important festival for Christians. Easter eggs and Easter bunnies are a major attraction during Easter, the festival of rejuvenation of life and living.

Christian church in the days of the early, but only Easter Sunday was celebrated a holy day. Each day of the week preceding Easter was established as holy days including Good Friday in fourth century.

Mostly Christians, Good Friday is really it was a "Bad" Friday - the really crucifixion day of the Jesus. Some Christian believes "Good" evolved from "God" or God's Friday.

Some people who adhere to a common faith and habitually attend a given church still hold three-hour service on Friday which represents the hanged hours spend by Christ on cross. This typical type of service includes seven distinct elements, which exactly represents the seven utterances of Christ on the cross.
